About Coastal Yoga Therapy
CYT provides yoga therapy and thai yoga therapy services in Bellingham, Washington. We are “certified” yoga therapists and “registered” thai therapists. We are not licensed massage therapists and do not provide massage services. Yoga therapy and thai yoga therapy are the yin and the yang of what we do, and when used in combination are powerful tools for creating balance, harmony, and health. In yoga therapy, students are actively engaged in the hard work of waking up and strengthening sleepy areas of the body, breaking repetitive pattern, and healing areas of overuse and tension. In thai yoga therapy the receiver is passive while the the body is compressed, pulled, stretched and rocked, in order to clear energy blockages and stimulate energy flow.
Mission Statement
At CYT we provide instruction in yoga practices and teachings to help students actively participate in their own health. We do not treat medical conditions; rather we use yoga and thai yoga therapy to guide students in a process of discovery through which they can come to know themselves better. We believe that by bringing presence and awareness to any condition, we all have the opportunity for change, growth and well-being.
